Milomir Kovačević

Milomir Kovačević, born in Croatia, is a street photographer and visual historian of the postwar and contemporary eras. By creating a record of cultural life in Sarajevo, he became the city's foremost social documentarian in the 1980s, his photojournalism tackling taboo subjects and the changing face of society before and after the Bosnian War of the nineties with a humane eye. His work has been exhibited across Europe, from Paris to Bucharest and Stuttgart.
